There are three stages to entering a candidate for a Music Medals assessment.
It is the responsibility of the Music Medals Partner to ensure that each candidate’s parent or guardian consents to their child being video-recorded for the purposes of assessment.
A sample parental permission form can be downloaded, although Partners may prefer to use their own.
It is not necessary to provide details to the Associated Board other than confirming during online entry that such permission has been obtained.
Entries for Music Medals are made online within the Entries and Results website. There are no closing dates for entries or fixed assessment periods! Entries can be made at any time, giving complete flexibility over the incorporation of the assessments into your timetable.
Online entries may be made by either the Teacher-Assessor or the Co-ordinator. Access to the Entries and Results website is enabled by means of an applicant number and password (issued after registration).
When making an online entry, the Teacher-Assessor or Co-ordinator must supply the following information:
You can choose to pay using one of the following methods:
For all payment methods except invoicing, payment must be received in full before the confidential Option tests can be downloaded and the assessments can take place.
Full instructions for completing the online entry process are provided by the Entries and Results website.
Refer to our Frequently Asked Questions for further information.
After online entry and receipt of payment by the Associated Board, the following items can be downloaded from the Entries and Results website:
The Option tests and report form are personalized with each candidate’s name and entry details.
Refer to our Downloading Options Tests FAQs for further information.
Option tests are time-limited and downloading them activates the start of an eight-week period during which the Medal must take place and all video-recordings and assessment materials must be sent to the Associated Board.
Throughout this period the Option tests must be kept entirely confidential.
If the eight-week time-limit is exceeded, the entry and Option tests become invalid and a new online entry (including new entry fee) must be made.
