Teacher-Assessors
Teacher-Assessors prepare, administer and assess Music Medals. Being a Teacher-Assessor involves:
- undergoing Teacher-Assessor training in association with a Music Medals Partner
- operating Music Medals assessments, including video-recording each Medal and assessing each candidate’s performance
- undertaking professional development training to refresh assessment skills
The Teacher-Assessor may also be involved in some or all of the following administrative processes*:
- seeking consent from parents to children being video-recorded
- collecting payment from parents
- entering candidates online
- downloading and printing confidential Option tests, report forms and supporting paperwork
- arranging a video camera and blank tapes for the chosen day
- despatching the video-recordings and paperwork to ABRSM
- receiving moderated results
- receiving and distributing medals, certificates and commentaries.
* some or all of these may instead be undertaken by a Music Medals Co-ordinator.
