11  Withdrawals and refunds

a. Entry fees for candidates who withdraw from a Music Medal for which they have been entered will be refunded only in exceptional circumstances. Refunds in cases of unforeseen events, such as minor illness, will not be made, since the eight-week period allowed for each Music Medal (see Regulation 12b) permits flexibility for rescheduling assessments.

b. If the withdrawal is caused by serious illness or injury, a medical certificate will be required; in such cases, the refund will not exceed 75% of the entry fee.

c. Any request for consideration of a refund due to withdrawal must be made to ABRSM as soon as possible and no later than two weeks after the expiry of the eight-week period allowed for each Music Medal, and must include full details of the circumstances. Any refund is made at the discretion of ABRSM.

d. No refund can be made where payment has been effected using a prepaid token.
